Why are there no Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse post-credit scenes?

Producers took a different route than the one followed in 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse, where a post-credit scene introduced LYLA and Miguel O’Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099. O’Hara (Oscar Isaac) travels across the multiverse to meet Spider-Man from the 1967 animated series in a fantastic encounter that takes inspiration from the well-known meme of two Spider-Men pointing at each other, which was also heavily referenced in the freshly-released Across the Spider-Verse.

With a duration of 2 hours and 20 minutes, Across the Spider-Verse set the record for the longest U.S. animated film ever made, overcoming 2012’s Consuming Spirits and its 2 hours and 16 minutes. Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, the film makes the most of its runtime by exploring the whys and the hows of many Spider-Verse characters.
