Bad Omens’ breakout hit, “Just Pretend” was written to be a radio rock parody. Though ironically, the “butt-rock” track has now become a beloved and viral phenomenon, making its way from TikTok to the very real radio waves themselves. The alt-metal group have since garnered a rabid fandom that follows them with dedication, both on the internet and at one of their rowdy, addictive live performances.
“I was kind of just freestyling,” vocalist Noah Sebastian said of the track in an interview with NME. “I had written some chords, and I just started singing in the booth over it. And this melody came out, the lyrics came out really quickly.” And just as quickly, the song caught steam.

Luckily, today the fandom is getting fed again, with a brand-new music video to accompany “Just Pretend” as engaging, narrative-rich and emotion-driven as the hit song itself.
