Tamra Judge is being accused of stealing Dorinda Medley‘s tagline idea for her potential return to The Real Housewives of New York City for the 17th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Following the premiere of the new season last week, Tamra responded to a years-old video of Dorinda sharing her would-have-been tagline, which was nearly identical to Tamra’s tagline for season 17, as she also shared a photo of her son Ryan Vieth‘s new home.
“Congratulations Ryan on the new house … I’m so happy for you and Ava and I can’t wait to visit,” Tamra wrote in the caption of a photo shared on June 13.
Ava is Tamra’s only grandchild. And while she didn’t say how close Ryan’s new place would be to that of her and Eddie Judge, she confirmed last year that she sees Ava “every Thursday.”
Also on social media, Tamra reacted to a video shared by The Reality Rundown on Instagram, which featured Dorinda on The Nick Cannon Show in 2021, where she revealed her tagline.
“[They asked], ‘If you were to go back on the Housewives, what would be your tagline?’ And I said it would be, ‘I may have been on pause, but I am ready to play,’” Dorinda, who was put on pause after RHONY season 12, declared at the time.
So when RHOC premiered with Tamra saying in her official tagline, “I might have been on pause but now, I’m ready to play,” fans took notice. However, despite the clear similarities, Tamra said she was not responsible for the overlap.
In a comment written in response to the clip, as seen in a screenshot shared by Comments by Bravo on Instagram, Tamra blamed production, saying they gave her the tagline and refused to refrain from including it, despite Dorinda’s apparent influence.
“I was given [five] taglines to repeat by production,” Tamra explained. “I had told them that specific one was close to what Dorinda had said about being on pause and I didn’t want to use that one. And they picked that one.”
“Not my doing!” she added.
