The SnyderVerse era of the DC Universe is officially set to come to the end with the release of The Flash this weekend. Yet, despite the fact Henry Cavill set to be recast in the upcoming Superman: Legacy project, director Zack Snyder has shared an image celebrating the tenth anniversary of Man of Steel.

Yesterday, June 14, was the tenth anniversary of Man of Steel, which was released all the way back in 2013. While Henry Cavill’s version of Superman has had a rocky history, director Zack Snyder has taken to Vero to celebrate both the actor and the film with a throwback to one of the first images released from the film:

Fans of Man of Steel still hold Henry Cavill and the Snyderverse close to their hearts. The recasting of Cavill in Superman: Legacy following The Flash soft-rebooting the universe is still controversial to many, but fans can rest assured that the legacy of Cavill’s Superman will remain far from forgotten.

Superman’s DC Universe Future

Superman: Legacy is a much-anticipated project, given that Clark Kent has been an integral part of the DC Universe for over 80 years, with various iterations and adaptations across different media. James Gunn promises to explore the character’s origins and his struggles to balance his dual identities as Clark and Superman while fighting off villains and saving the world.

James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room and a unified storyline across film, television, animation and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.
