Real Housewives Of Atlanta Is The Best Real Housewives Franchise

As a seasoned Bravo fan, I’ve consumed almost every episode of every Housewives franchise out there (which is no easy feat, TBH).

The ladies of the different cities of the Bravoverse have brought every kind of entertainment, but none of them do it quite like the women of Atlanta.

The third installment in the Housewives universe, Real Housewives of Atlanta premiered in October of 2008 and is in the midst of airing its 15th season as we speak.

Lisa Wu, DeShawn Snow, NeNe Leakes, Kim Zolciak, and Shereé Whitfield were the OGs of ATL, with Kandi Burruss joining the line-up in Season 2.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at just some of the reasons why this is the best Housewives franchise of all time.

1.

RHOA was the first Southern franchise and the first to have a Black woman on the cast (let alone a cast of predominately Black women).

2.

It has given us some truly unforgettable moments…

3.

…and laughs that go the distance, from women who can laugh at themselves as fiercely as they fight with others.

4.

Don’t forget about the guilty pleasures you’ve added to your playlist, courtesy of RHOA. Who among us hasn’t bopped around to “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party”?

5.

The more they added to the cast, the better it got. Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams, Cynthia Bailey, and Kenya Moore?!

6.

It wasn’t just fabulous. It was GONE WITH THE WIND FABULOUS.

8.

Atlanta also felt like the first franchise where people really got into the interactive element, from WWHL appearances to Twitter discourse to memes on memes on memes (all praise to Black Twitter on all the above).

9.

The reads (both on screen and online) have only gotten better and better over time.

11.

There have been some explosive reunions that produce even more unforgettable (but GIFable) scenes. Who doesn’t remember this FOUR-PART REUNION?

12.

There have been ups and downs, breakups and makeups, loss of money, time, and relevance, but never have the ladies of Atlanta not shown up and shown out.

15.

And of course, all the respect for one of the central figures of Atlanta who has since moved on from all things Bravo, the incomparable Linnethia ‘NeNe’ Leakes.

16.

There are murmurs RHOA is in its flop era in its 15th season, but with the tricks up these women’s sleeves, I have no doubts the ladies of Atlanta will be giving for many seasons to come.

Go ahead, tell me another franchise is better. Share your thoughts in the comments.

And be sure to watch every episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta whenever you want on Peacock!
