Big Trouble in Little China is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time, and I was obsessed with this movie as a kid as well. Wondering if anyone else has a lifelong passion for this film. Also thought I’d share that in 1989, when I was 9, I wrote a fan letter to Dennis Dun, the actor who played Wang Chi. He was my favorite character in the movie and I thought he was really really cool. Somehow my dad was able to get the letter to him and he mailed me this high-quality photo with a personalized autograph. I was beyond thrilled when I got it.
Anyway, I think this film is timeless and can appeal to anyone regardless of age. I don't think anyone other than John Carpenter could've made this movie as good as it is. There’s just something about it that is so original and fun. All the characters are fantastic and it’s just a blast. I’d also like to point out that James Hong is so good as Lo Pan. One of the best villains of all time! For people who have loved this film since childhood, what has kept you drawn to this film after so many years?
