Captain America: Brave New World, the much-anticipated fourth chapter in the Captain America series, has concluded filming. This update came courtesy of Kramer Morgenthau, the film’s cinematographer, via an Instagram post. Along with the announcement, Morgenthau unveiled an updated look at the film’s logo, showcasing its red, white, and blue design.
Marvel Studios had to grapple with the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike during the production of Captain America: Brave New World, which kicked off in March 2023. The strike had the potential to put a spanner in the works of various ongoing projects under the Marvel umbrella. However, Brave New World emerged as an exception, though its release date was pushed back by several weeks.
With filming now in the rear-view mirror, post-production takes the wheel as the next stop in bringing Captain America: Brave New World to the big screen. However, with Marvel’s absence from San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H, a first look at the film still seems to be some distance away.
Captain America: Brand New World sees Antony Mackie returning to the role of Sam Wilson following the events of the Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The series ended with Wilson taking up the mantle of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What to expect from the Captain America sequel
Details regarding the plot of Captain America: Brand New World are being kept under wraps. Thunderbolt Ross (Harrison Ford) and The Leader (Tim Blake Nelson) are expected to serve as the main villains of the movie, which is currently in production for a May 2024 release.
Julius Onah is directing Captain America: Brand New World, working from a script by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. The cast of the movie also includes Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley and Shira Haas as Sabra, with Xosha Roquemore on board in an undisclosed role.
