The fish out of water theme can be an interesting concept. In Spellward Bound, the new realm Mateo is thrust into is quite literally turning him into an aquatic magical creature. Not really what he thought “adventure” would mean for him.
Created by DuneDeca, the Webtoons fantasy series centers on Mateo, a young man searching for his purpose in life, but his assumption that his dreams of being an astronaut are just too unreachable for him interferes with his progress. After a mishap at a career fair, Mateo and his friend Ty are transported to a magical realm where the more time they spend there, the further from being human they become.
