Quavo appears to have a new lady in his life, and her loyalty has already been put to the test by none other than Usher.
The Migos rapper stepped out with his rumored girlfriend, gymnast Erica Fontaine, in Las Vegas this past weekend, where they attended Usher’s concert at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
Much like he’s done throughout his Sin City residency, the Confessions crooner approached Fontaine in the audience and serenaded her — but not without asking for Quavo’s permission first.
“Now Quavo, I hope you don’t mind if I serenade your lady real quick, you know what I’m saying?” the R&B legend said to Huncho, who appeared to give him the green light.
Usher then launched into a sultry rendition of his 2010 ballad “There Goes My Baby” while stood in front of Fontaine, who could be seen swaying her body before turning to Quavo and laughing.
The singer even let the 24-year-old gymnast and model — who has previously been linked to NBA stars Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard — duet with him as he held his microphone in front of her mouth.
Fontaine obliged by showing off her own singing voice and finishing a line from the song, much to the delight of the crowd.
Rumors of a romance between Quavo and Erica Fontaine first cropped up in March, with gossip blog Media Take Out reporting that the couple are “pretty serious”.
The “Hotel Lobby” hitmaker was recently linked to Lori Harvey, the model/socialite daughter of Steve Harvey, after they were spotted at the same West Hollywood restaurant, but both parties promptly shut down the speculation.
Quavo’s last serious relationship was with fellow rapper Saweetie, who he dated for roughly two-and-a-half years before they called it quits in March 2021. The Icy Girl alluded to infidelity on Quavo’s part while announcing their split on social media.
“I’m single,” she tweeted at the time. “I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”
She added: “I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation.”
Quavo responded with a statement of his own that read: “I know you want to make this into a show so I’ll play my part just this one time. I don’t normally put my business out there, especially my personal life. I feel the need to address this so there are no false narratives.
“I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.”
Meanwhile, Usher’s Las Vegas residency — which has been affectionally dubbed the “Take Your Girl Tour” — continues to make headlines thanks to his relentless serenading of female celebrity attendees.
Coincidentally, Saweetie found herself in the “Yeah!” hitmaker’s sexual crosshairs during a show earlier this month, but unlike Keke Palmer and Taraji P. Henson, she proved immune to his charms as she kept her hands — and body — mostly to herself as she bopped along to his performance onstage.
Like her ex, Saweetie has also moved on and is currently dating fellow California rapper YG.
