Ethan Slater‘s estranged wife is letting her thoughts be known regarding the difficult situation involving the actor and Ariana Grande.
Of course, we’ve been writing quite a bit about Lilly Jay in recent days. She’s the woman at the center of the shocking scandal in which Slater walked out on her and his infant son to pursue love with the Victorious alum. Already this week, Jay has spoken out about the awful incident — and now, she’s giving the world more.

On Thursday, Lilly released a statement to TMZ regarding the relationship drama involving her SpongeBob SquarePants The Musical alum husband and the 7 Rings singer. Trying to stay strong through the statement, Lilly started by saying:
“I’m focused on my son and doing my best to navigate a spotlight I have never wanted or experienced before.”
Then, she added this curious statement:
“I am watching with horror as stories are published speaking to my experience.”
Before finishing with a request for privacy in order to raise her son:
“I am asking for privacy and respect as an individual who is not in the entertainment industry and as a mom. I ask to be left alone to rebuild my life and raise the beautiful boy I gave birth to last year.”
So, obviously, there is a lot going on here. And with Ethan having officially filed divorce papers on Wednesday, it would seem that things are moving in that direction no matter what Jay may be ready for.
But that middle quote — the one about “watching with horror as stories are published speaking to my experience” — is the one that got our attention. As Perezcious readers will recall, on Wednesday, Jay was quoted by Page Six saying that Ariana is “not a girl’s girl,” and her family is “just collateral damage” to the star’s wants and desires.

When that Page Six quote got back to Ethan — with Lilly’s name literally slapped on it — he was apparently “more than surprised” to read it. This new tidbit comes courtesy of an insider who spoke to TMZ early on Friday morning. The source claimed Lilly “did not understand what it meant” that she was making those comments “on the record.” And thus, when her name came up as being quoted instead of “sources” or “an insider,” or whatever, it was a shock.
Ummm…
Media moves aside, the more interesting Friday morning note is that Slater “desperately” wants to co-parent the son he shares with his now-estranged wife.
Insiders told TMZ that Ethan and Lilly are talking “daily,” and the convos are focused “mostly about their little boy.” According to that insider, the Wicked actor is “determined to have a major presence in the boy’s life” even amid all this shocking romantic drama involving Ariana.

Ethan apparently even asked Lilly if they could release a joint statement confirming they were committed to a healthy coparenting situation. However, Lilly apparently “wanted to defer releasing the statement, at least for now.” Hmmm…
Clearly, there are still a LOT of moving parts in this ordeal. The baby boy’s care and parenting focus from mom and dad is pretty much the biggest concern here, of course. But beyond that, it sounds like there’s still quite a bit to be settled.
