Blondshell, the moniker of Sabrina Teitelbaum, has undergone a thrilling breakout this year with the release of her self-titled debut album. Through a collection of sharp, ’90s-indebted cuts that recount the bleaker edges of growing up, she’s revitalized alt-rock that sounds massive.
Now, Teitelbaum has announced a deluxe edition of that record, which features two new songs and other gems (including a demo of “Kiss City,” a bossa nova version of “Tarmac,” and the previously released single “Cartoon Earthquake”). One of those tracks, “Street Rat,” is out today. The mesmerizing grunge ballad fits right in with her other releases and will hopefully get a chance to shine when she opens up for Liz Phair’s Exile in Guyville anniversary tour in November.

“I wrote ‘Street Rat’ the day we finished tracking the album, so it really feels like part of the same era to me,” Teitelbaum says. “If I had written it one day earlier, it would’ve been on the album. It’s a song about all of the mental gymnastics behind wanting to give up a bad habit, but not being able to despite knowing you should.”
