Alexis Bellino reunited with her ex-husband, Jim Bellino, this week after announcing her split from Andrew “Drew” Bohn.
Amid what she’s described as an extremely difficult month, during which she suffered the devastating loss of her mother, Penelope, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum, 46, shared a series of family photos, one of which featured Jim, and revealed if the two of them are “getting back together.”
“Drew and I have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” Alexis told Page Six on September 5. “Despite this, our love for each other remains strong, and we both sincerely wish nothing but the best for one another.”
Continuing on, Alexis said it was in her and Drew’s “best interest[s] to pursue separate paths” following their nearly three-year engagement and asked for “thoughts and prayers” as they “navigate through this breakup.”
As RHOC fans may know, Alexis’ split from Drew came just weeks after her mother, Penelope, died in early August.
“Momma, you are finally free. You can walk again, cook, dance, hold a glass, talk, hug, laugh…you are out of that horrible body that kept you prisoner for the past three years,” Alexis wrote in the caption of an emotional Instagram post at the time. “You put up the strongest fight I’ve ever seen. My promise to you is that I will make sure the UCLA brain donor program finds out what robbed you of your beautiful life at such a young age, and we will help others so that your torture was not in vain. You light up every room, even when you could no longer speak the nursing staff still said you were their favorite, and that’s because your energy is infectious.”
She continued, “The hole in my heart feels unbearable and like it will never repair. I’m numb and still in disbelief that you’re really gone. I don’t know how I will ever be myself again, and I hope the tears stop. But the last nine days of watching you struggle was almost just as excruciating. You are forever my favorite person and my best friend. In your words, “death is simply another form of living.” I’ll see you again, and you better show me signs from the other side. I love you to the moon and back, momma.”
As Alexis navigates her new single life following the passing of her mom, she’s remained focused on the three kids she shares with Jim, including son James, 17, and 16-year-old twins Mackenna and Miles, the latter of whom is transgender.
“I had stopped posting for the past few months due to this transition in Miles’ life, but he’s now ready to ‘come out’ and to use this platform to stop any hate or questions,” Alexis said on social media about the teen’s identity. “I refused him for a while, but now I know Miles truly wants this. He’s tired of the misgendering and confusion people have, so we are setting the record straight and hopefully bringing clarity.”
“We are all human, and we are ALL equal. I am 100% fully supportive of my son. I hope you will be too,” she added.
As for her recent reunion with Jim, who she was married to from April 2005 to August 2018, that came as their children began their new school year.
“Traditional back to school pic… better late than never. I HAVE A SENIOR??????!!!!!!!! How’d that happen??? Forgive my [misspelling] of Sophomore … My mom died [six] days before I made those signs so my mind definitely wasn’t clear. Still isn’t,” Alexis wrote in her back-to-school caption.
She then added of her potential reconciliation with Jim, “And no, Jim and I are not getting back together. Let me stop the rumor before it starts. But this man has been here [100 percent] during this darkest, gut-wrenching month of losing my mom.”
Following the post, Alexis was met with comments from fans, one of whom wrote, “Aww love that you two are together for the kids,” and another who said, “I love that your ex is there. Wonderful parenting.”
Alexis appeared in a full-time role on The Real Housewives of Orange County from season five through season eight.
