RHOBH’s Kyle Richards Shares How Daughter Got Her in Trouble

Kyle Richards opened up about the criticism she often receives in regard to the way in which her youngest daughter, 15-year-old Portia Umansky, dresses during a recent appearance on Amazon Live.

As the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star defended her parenting against critics, noting that while Portia’s attire got her in “trouble” during their recent family vacation in Italy, her friends’ wardrobes are “way more inappropriate,” a new report claimed her husband, Mauricio Umansky, will be a part of Dancing With the Stars season 32.

Ahead of ABC’s official cast reveal next week, Queens of Bravo shared a couple of photos on their Instagram, which reportedly hint at Mauricio’s potential role.

“UPDATE: A reliable source has confirmed Mauricio is set to appear [on] Dancing with the Stars next season!” the outlet declared on September 7 of the longtime RHOBH cast member, who also appears on Netflix’s Buying Beverly Hills.

In the first of two images, a man with his face covered was seen with a couple of bracelets on his wrist as he seemingly left a rehearsal. Meanwhile, in the second, Mauricio was seen taking a shirtless selfie with what appeared to be the same bracelets on his wrist.

As Mauricio potentially prepares to appear on DWTS amid his reported separation from Kyle, Kyle continues to be faced with criticism on social media over Portia’s recent outfits. And, during an Amazon Live stream on August 30, via Heavy, she clapped back.

As she showcased pieces her family was seen in amid their European getaway last month, Kyle gave a nod to one of Portia’s crop tops.

“Oh, people love it when my teenage daughter wears a crop top; they love to comment about it,” Kyle shared. “I’m just not that uptight about that … I don’t think that is a big deal. I mean, we wear bathing suits.”

According to Kyle, she would “of course” intervene if Portia was wearing something really inappropriate.

“There have been many times where it’s like we’re pushing it, I’m not pleased. But sometimes as a parent, you have to pick and choose your arguments,” she explained, stating that Portia’s friend group has things  “way shorter and way more inappropriate.”

“And then I look like the annoying mom, but you still have to make that point,” she said.

Kyle then mentioned a dress Portia had worn.

“Oh no, not Portia wearing a sexy bodycon,” she said. “This dress got me in trouble too, guys. This dress got me in trouble.”

After people saw Portia dancing in the tight dress, they were “not pleased.”

“They thought she was at a random club. We went to dinner in Positano. It’s like a little marina, you get off the boat, and there are little restaurants. There’s no age limit there. I went to bed. She went with her dad and her sisters,” Kyle recalled. “They were like, ‘This is the first time she gets to do this because it’s legal.’ It’s not a big deal. I think the headline was ‘Gone Wild’ or something.”

Back in July, after getting backlash for wearing a strapless top and miniskirt, Portia defended herself against a fan who said the outfit was “totally inappropriate” and “sad.”

“Don’t be sad, I’m happy as a clam!” she declared.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to premiere on Bravo later this year.
