Toho has released a new trailer for their upcoming film Godzilla Minus One, which is the thirtieth Godzilla film that they’ve made. This looks like it’s going to be an awesome Godzilla movie, and it will be the first Japanese-produced Godzilla film since Shin Godzilla in 2016, which was pretty incredible! Toho is definitely making better Godzilla movies than Legendary is doing in America. Those last couple of films have sucked. Toho just knows how to tell a great Godzilla story.
Toho President Koji Ueda also released the following statement: “Set in a post-war Japan, Godzilla Minus One will once again show us a Godzilla that is a terrifying and overwhelming force.”
The trailer reveals: “After the war, Japan’s economic state has been reduced to zero. Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state.”
The movie was written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, and the trailer features Godzilla attacking the city in full-on rage mode as people are trying to figure out how to stop him. But, the monster is on a rampage of death and chaos. Damn… I can’t wait to watch this movie!
Godzilla Minus One will get a theatrical release in the United States on December 1st.
