Summer House stars Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke have officially called it quits and canceled their November wedding in Mexico.
PEOPLE can confirm that Summer House‘s Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke have officially called off their engagement and canceled their November wedding.
The Summer House couple got engaged in August 2022 and were planning to tie the knot this fall in Mexico.
In a letter sent to the couple’s friends and family, which PEOPLE obtained, Carl announced the news and apologized for any inconvenience.
“Words cannot possibly express how difficult the last two weeks have been for Lindsay and I,” Carl wrote. “We are so incredibly sorry to all of our guests for the confusion and lack of communication. We were left trying to figure out how this all exactly happened before we could even have the opportunity to determine the path forward amongst ourselves.”
“There have been a lot of false narratives and misunderstandings that have made this all the more painful, but sadly, at this time, we are not moving forward with the wedding,” he continued. “The fact of the matter is Lindsay is devastated, and I’m crushed with how all this transpired. I graciously ask for some patience and grace to heal and recover while we navigate this extremely difficult time.”
Carl acknowledged that his and Lindsay’s wedding guests’ “commitment of money and time was already a lot,” adding, “I don’t take [this] lightly. We are super grateful for the love and support you have shown us and will do what I can to help with any costs associated with changing plans.”
“I’m sorry again this has become such a mess,” he wrote. “Thanks for your unconditional love and support during this tough time. Will be in touch with further updates. With love, Carl”
Page Six reports that Lindsay was “hurt” and “blindsided” by Carl’s note to their wedding guests.
“Lindsay did not approve of Carl’s letter before it was made public, so there is no ‘we,’” an insider told Page Six. “She’s definitely hurt by it, for sure.”
Meanwhile, Carl and Lindsay‘s Summer House co-star Ciara Miller called out the wedding guest who leaked, aka sold, Carl’s email to PEOPLE.
Ciara commented:
“It’s really fucking weird to think someone on their guest list would copy and paste their statement and send it to a fucking news outlet.”
Since the leak of Carl’s letter to their wedding guests, Lindsay has scrubbed any trace of Carl from her Instagram.
Lindsay and Carl met in 2016 while filming season one of Summer House. The two quickly became friends and had a brief romance during season 4. They remained friends after their failed attempt at dating. In late 2021, Carl and Lindsay started dating – again and later confirmed their relationship in January 2022.
After one year of dating, Carl proposed to Lindsay with a 4.02-carat Nicole Rose diamond ring in August 2022 at Southhampton’s Dune Beach. The moment was captured on camera for season seven of Summer House.
In August 2023, news broke that Carl broke off his engagement with Lindsay on camera while filming season 8 of Summer House.
Lindsay was “devastated” by Carl calling off their engagement just 2.5 months before they were set to marry in Mexico.
“He did call off the wedding on camera,” a source told Us Weekly. The source adds that it was “so mean” for Carl to break up with Lindsay on camera.
Entertainment Tonight was the first outlet to confirm the news of Carl and Lindsay’s split.
“Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard have called off their engagement. The two were set to get married in November, but Carl told Lindsay he couldn’t move forward with the wedding. The breakup was filmed and will most likely play out on the next season of Summer House,” a source told the outlet on Thursday, August 31.
