20th Century Studios has released a new featurette for director Kenneth Branagh’s horror mystery thriller, A Haunting in Venice. This film is based upon the novel “Hallowe’en Party” by Agatha Christie, and Branagh once again stars as famed detective Hercule Poirot.
The video is called “Eerie Ensemble” and it focuses on the cast of characters that fill the story. The actors talk about the experience of making the film, and Branagh opens up on how the actors brought humanity to the film which made things more haunting.
He said: “All of these wonderful actors provide a humanity that is very touching and very haunting, and all of which confuses you and you are in quite the conundrum as to whodunit.”
The movie is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve and is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.
The ensemble cast also includes Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, and Riccardo Scamarcio.
A Haunting in Venice opens exclusively in theaters on September 15th, 2023.
