In January 2022, The Korea Times announced that actors Lee Jun-young and Roh Jeong-eui will be joining Ma Dong-seok to be a part of the sequel to Concrete Utopia, tentatively titled “The Wilderness.” The production began in the first half of 2022, so viewers can likely expect it sometime in mid to late 2024, as per previous release patterns.
The Wilderness will reportedly be set in the same setting as that of its prequel. It will be a post-apocalyptic dystopian film that will follow the lives of survivors who are left in an abandoned land after a massive earthquake hits the city. Heo Myeong-haeng is set to make his directorial debut with the film. Viewers will have to wait until next year for the movie to return with a brand-new storyline.

The official cast for the sequel includes Lee Jun-young, Roh Jeong-eui, and Ma Dong-seok playing the lead roles. It is reported that the movie will see the three artists essay roles significant to the film. More cast members haven’t been announced yet.
