A new report reveals that Bravo has ZERO interest in bringing RHOA OG Kim Zolciak back for season 16 as they want new and fresh faces.
Since Kim Zolciak‘s marital and financial drama with Kroy Biermann became public knowledge back in May, Bravo fans have been wondering if Kim will make a return to the Real Housewives of Atlanta for season 16.
Kim Zolciak and her estranged hubby Kroy Biermann are broke as a joke. The two are currently on the verge of losing their Georgia mansion to foreclosure. The home is set to be auctioned off on November 7 amid their ongoing divorce. Kroy is trying to sell the house ASAP in hopes of securing any equity they have in the property in hopes of paying down some of their growing debt. As for Kim, she is currently filming season 8 of The Surreal Life in Columbia.
While Kim may be returning to the world of reality TV with her stint on The Surreal Life, sources tell TMZ that Kim isn’t in the running for season 16 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Producers aren’t considering Kim for season 16 despite the attention her messy split from Kroy is getting at the moment.
The insider adds that Kim isn’t banging down the doors of producers either about returning to the Atlanta Housewives franchise. You think she would considering she needs the money but oh well.
Kim did make an appearance during season 15 when she filmed a dinner scene with fellow OG Sheree Whitfield, DeShawn Snow, and Lisa Wu. We now learn that scene was a simple one-off and Bravo isn’t interested in bringing Kim back to the show next season for further scenes.
However, the decision is nothing personal against Kim. Instead, producers are looking to refresh the cast for season 16 with new faces and storylines. An insider notes that producers are trying to fill the cast with past Housewives.
Earlier this month a source close to production told Entertainment Tonight that “a major shakeup is coming” to the Atlanta Housewives franchise. The current cast, which includes Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Drew Sidora, Shereé Whitfield, Marlo Hampton, and Sanya Richards-Ross, have been warned to “expect a big change.”
“They hinted at a reboot like ‘New York’ got, but it also could be moving forward with only a couple of the current stars,” a source told ET. “The cast is on edge about their future and has no idea where the network plans to go. Although their ratings are still strong, the network is listening to fans and their desire for a change.”
Love B Scott was the first to report that a reboot for the Real Housewives of Atlanta was in the works.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is expected to return for season 16 in 2024.
