Shannon Beador is reportedly being investigated by Animal Control for driving drunk with her dog Archie in the car, as another report reveals she sustained injuries to her face after her vehicle’s airbag allegedly failed to deploy amid her DUI and hit and run on Saturday.
The Newport Beach Police Department’s animal control unit has confirmed they are “looking into” the actions of the Real Housewives of Orange County star following her DUI arrest over the weekend, during which Archie was in her vehicle.
Sgt. Steve Oberon also tells Page Six, “We don’t have animal endangering laws like you would with children but we do have animal cruelty laws, so he’s going to look into that a little bit further.”
The good news is Archie did not appear injured following the wreck according to the officer. The dog was not taken for medical treatment per Shannon’s wishes as she asked that Archie be “dropped off at someone’s house to take care of it while she was dealing with her situation.”
As the RHOC star nurses her injuries, which are said to include stitches and a broken arm, and attempts to make things right with the owner of the home she hit, Shannon, 59, has been staying close to ex-boyfriend John Janssen, who recently accompanied her to a doctor visit.
In photos shared by the Daily Mail on September 21, Shannon and John were seen at Huntington Beach’s Z Dermatology, which specializes in dermatology and “skin wellness.”
As they walked into the building, Shannon was photographed from the back. She was concealing her face with sunglasses and wore a blue button-down with black leggings. Meanwhile, John, who led the way, was seen carrying a white cardboard box.
According to an insider, Shannon has been “instructed by Bravo to not have her face photographed by anyone and to not go outside” because it is “messed up from hitting the steering wheel after she crashed her car.”

Nearly a week after her crash, sources told TMZ on September 21 that Shannon’s attorney, Michael Fell, is in touch with the owner of the Newport Beach duplex she ran into and has informed them that Shannon is willing to cover the costs of the damages sustained.
Sources also tell the outlet that Shannon has begun the process of looking into potential treatment centers to address her issues with alcohol. She is reportedly very determined to get help although the issue is still fresh to her.
According to another report, from Radar Online on September 21, Shannon is “bruised and cut” after her accident and fears she’ll need plastic surgery.
In addition to seemingly hiding her arm in recent pics, the RHOC cast member has appeared to have it in a sling as she’s been out and about with John.
The outlet also said that Shannon has stitches in her face and is thinking about consulting a surgeon in preparation for when they will be removed.
