Summary
Full House star Candace Cameron Bure celebrates her 36-year anniversary as DJ Tanner with a new image. The sitcom premiered in 1987, and Bure’s character, the oldest daughter of Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), was often portrayed as being the responsible sibling, and quickly became a fan favorite. In Fuller House, she took on a larger role, moving back home to raise her three children, alongside Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber). The show also continued to explore her romance with Steve Hale (Scott Weinger), ending with the pair finally getting married.
In a recent Instagram post, Bure shared a behind-the-scenes photo from Fuller House, commemorating the 36-year anniversary of DJ. Check out the image below:
Bure highlighted the moment she found her character’s wedding dress, revealing in the caption that playing DJ has been “a ride” and that she feels “So blessed!”
Will Candace Cameron Bure Ever Return As DJ Tanner?
During the series finale of Fuller House, DJ and Steve were married in a backyard wedding, along with Stephanie and Jimmy (Adam Hagenbuch), and Kimmy and Fernando (Juan Pablo Di Pace). DJ later revealed that she felt lost after the death of her first husband, and thanked her family and friends for their support over the years. While there are no updates regarding future spinoffs, the door appears to be wide open, and several cast members have already commented about reprising their roles in other projects. Back in March, Dave Coulier also expressed interest in reuniting the cast of Full House to honor the late Saget.
Outside of her work on Full House, Bure is well-known for starring in numerous Hallmark Channel movies, and developing content for Great American Family. Her comments about traditional marriage have sparked controversy, though, leading to an alleged feud between her and co-star Sweetin. The Full House actors previously appeared together at ’90s Con and based on the pictures Bure shared to social media, the two seem to be on good terms.
Full House remains a beloved sitcom, and fans would likely welcome another show, so it will be interesting to see if the rest of the cast can reunite in the future. Considering how popular the sequel was on Netflix, it’s entirely possible that Bure could return as DJ Tanner once again.
