One of the most difficult early bosses you fight in Lies of P is the Scrapped Watchman, a giant police puppet charged with electricity that can be very difficult to beat. Split into two distinct phases, you’ll have to master Pinocchio’s movement and wait for the perfect times to strike. The limited gear you have at this point in the game gives you only a few options for taking down this giant automaton.
Make sure to upgrade at least one weapon or Legion Arm before reaching this boss fight to give yourself better damage on attacks. Unlike the Parade Master in Lies of P, the Scrapped Watchman can take far more hits unless you improve your weapons. You can spend a Star Fragment outside the area with this boss to summon a Specter ally to help during the battle if you would rather save your upgrade items for later.
How To Defeat The Scrapped Watchman Boss in Lies of P
The best way to defeat the Scrapped Watchman is to stay close to the boss during Phase 1, then often dodge to avoid its electric attacks in Phase 2. The arena where you fight this enemy is large, giving you plenty of space to heal or repair when you get the chance. Remember that attacks from the boss that glow red are called “Fury Attacks,” which cannot be dodged or guarded against, only countered with a Perfect Guard in Lies of P.
Phase 1
Attack
Description
Backhand
The Scrapped Watchman puts its hand in front of itself before trying to strike forward at you, leaping away during the attack.
Spinning Strikes
After a winding animation, the boss spins their arms in three consecutive strikes against you, the third of which is a red Fury Attack.
Slamming Hand
The boss pulls back their right hand for a delayed amount of time before slamming it down onto the ground where you stand.
Claw Combo
The Watchman swings their hands from side to side in a quick series of attacks that can be dodged or guarded perfectly.
The more attacks you Perfect Guard in this Phase, the more the Scrapped Watchman’s stagger gauge will fill in Lies of P, letting you get some free attacks once it breaks completely. The moves from the boss in this Phase are usually slower, giving you plenty of time to dodge many incoming strikes. Stay patient and get in some hits after any of the listed attacks here finish since the boss will take time to recover.
Phase 2
Attack
Description
Lightning Roar
When the boss’ health reaches 50%, it will emit a roar of electricity in a damaging aura that will damage you if you stay near the automaton.
Electrified Leap
The Scrapped Watchman leaps backward before jumping up into the air and flying toward you as a ball. After landing, many spots around will light up and create strikes of lightning in multiple areas that will cause huge damage unless you are far away from the boss.
Winding Grab
Similar to the Slamming Hand attack, the boss reaches back in a delayed attack before striking forward. If you do not dodge in time, the boss grabs you into an inescapable animation that can almost kill you instantly.
Every attack from Phase 1 returns in Phase 2 with new electric properties, sometimes leaving a small flash of blue energy on the ground that transforms into a lightning strike in that spot after a short time. Besides that, the boss fight doesn’t change much, so apply the same strategies as before to beat the Scrapped Watchman once and for all in Lies of P.

Summary: Following in the footsteps of games similar to Bloodborne, Lies of P is an action-RPG adventure game with heavy Souls-like influences. Loosely based on the tale of Pinocchio, Lies of P throws players into the shoes of the reimagined wooden boy as a puppet mechanoid as he wakes up in a city devoid of life. Pinocchio has only one clue as to what’s happening to him; a single note telling him to find Mr. Gepetto. Players will battle through the city of Krat free of humans as they struggle against other mechanical and hellish monsters that await them at every turn. To face these threats, players can craft various weapons using devices found throughout the city and gain new attachments to improve traversal. The ending can be significantly affected depending on the player’s narrative and action-based choices. Lies of P will be released on current and next-gen consoles and PC sometime in 2023.
