Recently, actor Jonathan Majors referred to actress Meagan Good as ‘the missus’ at an event over the weekend, sparking widespread speculation about their marital status. However, a close source to the duo has come forward to clarify that the entertainers are not married, putting an end to these new swirling rumors.
While attending the Congressional Black Caucus’ eighth annual Black and White Gala co-hosted by Good and Larenz Tate in Washington D.C. on Saturday, the two got on the mic to say a few words. “We’re just so happy to be here with y’all tonight, celebrating us, celebrating the moves we’re making, celebrating the way we love and support each other, the way that we shift the world. Let’s enjoy ourselves! So many beautiful Black faces. I love us, y’all! We are so beautiful! That’s all I got. I’m just happy to be here and I love y’all!” She then handed it over to Majors and asked “Babe, you want to say anything?” Majors replied, “Y’all heard the missus, so that’s what it is.”
Social media users were quick to react to the clip of the moment. One person wrote, “Did #JonathanMajors #MeaganGood get married?” Another asked, “It’s been a whirlwind courtship for Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors but they made it work and seem to have gotten married. Congrats to the lovely couple. Black love for the win.” A third added, “Did Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors get married, or is this for a TV show or something??? Like what did I just watch” Speaking to PEOPLE, an insider said they have not tied the knot.

Good and the Creed III star were first linked back in May around the time Majors was facing a public legal battle.
As we previously reported, the actor was arrested in New York back in March on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment, authorities said. He was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. “The victim informed police she was assaulted,” a spokesperson for the NYPD said in a statement at the time. “Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”
Majors has since denied these allegations. “He has done nothing wrong,” his representative said in an email to the AP. “We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
Despite the legal battle that he’s still facing, Good has been by his side through the step of the way. She’s been seen at two of his court appearances.
“Meagan and Jonathan have maintained a friendship for some time,” previously told PEOPLE, of their romance. “Meagan has shown considerable support towards him. It seems their relationship has developed further from that point.”
