Spider-Man fans across the world celebrated the return of Andrew Garfield as the titular web-head in Spider-Man: No Way Home. When asked about a potential future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Garfield assured fans that the story is never over, even if it never makes it to film.
Despite his Spider-Man being the most controversial, mainly due to the lack of quality of The Amazing Spider-Man films, Andrew Garfield still holds a special place in fans’ hearts as the wall-crawler. Following his return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans hoped his version of Peter Parker might find redemption in the MCU. While Garfield certainly couldn’t promise anything, he assured fans there are more stories to tell about his hero:
“The story never ends,” Garfield spoke in Spider-Man: No Way Home – The Art of the Movie “Whether we film it or not, there’s a story happening in a universe somewhere. There’s endless potential with this character and other iterations.”
Fans have long speculated Andrew Garfield will be revealed as the Spider-Man in Sony’s villain universe. However, it’s also possible Garfield will return in the MCU proper after Spider-Man: No Way Home in a project like Avengers: Secret Wars. Only time will tell if he truly returns, but the character will always live on in the hearts of fans.
What’s next for Spider-Man?
What does the future hold for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker? The success of Spider-Man: No Way Home has opened up a world of possibilities for the fan-favorite Marvel character. The movie ends with Peter erasing himself from the memories of his loved ones in order to protect them from his enemies. This sets up an interesting dynamic for future Spider-Man movies, as Peter will have to navigate a world in which he is not known as Spider-Man.
Rumor has it that Tom Holland has signed on for multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances after Spider-Man: No Way Home. The future of the Spider-Man series is currently unclear, but it is likely that Marvel will continue to explore the multiverse concept that was introduced in No Way Home.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
