The ladies of The Real Housewives of Potomac are back for an eighth season, and they’re being joined by a new Housewife and also a new “friend.”
As Charrisse Jackson-Jordan returns to her “friend” role alongside fellow part-timer Keiarna Stewart, the full cast of season seven, including Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Wendy Osefo, Candiace Dillard-Bassett, Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Mia Thornton, is coming back to your TV screens this November for what is being previewed as a drama-filled and intense new season.
“We are all Black women and we are all going through our different things in our lives and we’re going to embrace that,” Ashley declares as the just-released trailer begins. “We’re going to keep Potomac weird, OK?”
As the cast is seen in a portrayal of a ’90s sitcom, titled Potomac Proper, Ashley introduces new Housewife Nneka Ihim, a Nigerian-American lawyer who is newly married to a plastic surgeon, and Gizelle is immediately impressed, deeming her as the “new Grand Dame.”
“If only it were that simple,” Karen replies.
As viewers are taken into the over-the-top life of Nneka, she tells cameras, “My daddy is a rich b* tch and he made sure his daughter was a rich b*tch too.”
She then tells her husband, “Thanks for buying me a $2 million house.”
Money continues to be a hot topic as Ashley sits down for a chat with Mia.
“I most definitely think that you married [Michael Darby] for his money,” Mia tells her castmate.
“Did you marry [Gordon Thornton] for his money?” Ashley claps back.
But admittedly, Mia shares, “I might have,” and in another scene, she and Gordon appear to be in counseling, where she reveals, “I actually had retained a divorce attorney.”
There’s also marital tension between Wendy and her husband, Eddie Osefo, who has complaints about their love life.
“I come to bed and you’re sleeping,” he tells his wife.
“Yeah, because you come to bed at 2 o’clock in the morning,” she responds.
Even Robyn’s marriage appears to be at a rocky point, which may not be too surprising to some considering the allegations regarding Juan and other women that surfaced in recent months.
“Juan was in the nail salon, Juan was in the laundromat, Juan was at the hotel,” Gizelle states.
But Juan is unbothered, telling his wife, “People always got something to say. I don’t care.”
Then, after Ashley cries over guilt and Gizelle worries her daughter isn’t prepared for college, Mia and Karen butt heads.
“You’re an old dog. I need you to find some new tricks,” Mia tells Karen, who replies, “You are the trick!”
Elsewhere, Michael’s defamation lawsuit against Candiace becomes a point of contention between Candiace and Ashley.
“Kiss my f*cking a**,” Candiace tells her castmate.
“Walk away so I can see it,” Ashley replies, prompting Candiace to slam her drink on the table.
“You don’t f*cking own me!” Candiace yells.
Also in the trailer, Robyn is seen bickering with Karen, and Nneka is seen accusing Wendy’s mom of doing “voodoo” on her.
“My mom worships our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” Wendy clarifies.
“At day. By night, she’s submitting names to shrines,” Nneka fires back.
The Real Housewives of Potomac season eight premieres on Sunday, November 5, at 8/7c on Bravo.
