#Socialites, get a load of this! A New Jersey man was recently arrested after getting caught using a license plate flipping device to avoid paying tolls in the Tristate area.

The New Jersey driver has been identified as Adam Jimenez and he is now facing several charges after installing a license plate flipping device that helped him escape paying tolls on the George Washington Bridge (GWB) last week.
According to the Port Authority of New York, the toll cost at the GWB ranges from $12.75 to $14.75 with an E-ZPass, depending on the time of day, and $17 if driving through the plaza without a Pass.
According to Port Authority of New York spokeswoman Lenis Valens, the New Jersey man drove through the GWB toll plaza on Friday (September 22) in Fort Lee, NJ. Included in the charges that Jimenez now faces are counts of: theft of service; tampering with public records; possession of burglar’s tools; and possession of fraudulent documents.

It is also reported that between the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police, Jimenez was also issued summonses for “unclear plates, counterfeiting or using other markers, and failure to exhibit documents.”
Now, according to authorities, this isn’t the first time that the New Jersey man has allegedly tried to avoid tolls with his nifty license plate flipping device. Reportedly, back in February, he was arrested after police said they busted him shielding his license plate using a remote-controlled electronic curtain.

Port Authority of New York spokeswoman Lenis Valens added that police are now investigating the number of times that Jimenez has allegedly tried to cover his license plate while driving through a toll booth or plaza using the flipping device or other methods.
Valens said, “It does appear this person is a persistent toll evader.” She also revealed that there are police patrolling toll plazas, bridges, and tunnels in marked and unmarked vehicles, who are trained in detecting concealing devices. And after people have been caught evading the tolls, Port Authority police have arrested or written summonses to drivers using similar electronic devices as Jimenez to hide their license plates and avoid toll costs.
