Sai De Silva shared her thoughts on the edit she got on The Real Housewives of New York City season 14 during an Instagram Q&A on Tuesday.
As she answered questions from her social media followers, Sai, 42, responded to someone who mentioned that she looks like she’s “always complaining” before describing the recent reunion taping as “interesting” and revealing how her life is different now that she’s a reality star.
“How has your life changed since RHONY?” an Instagram user asked Sai on September 26, wondering about the “ups and downs” she’s experienced on the Bravo series.
“In all honestly, nothing has changed. A few more [people] notice me when I’m out and about and I have a few [people] who love to troll me on social. Other than that, it’s business as usual,” she replied.
Someone else asked, “How was the reunion?”
“Ummmm it was an interesting experience,” Sai admitted.
A third person wanted to know how Sai feels about how she’s been portrayed on RHONY, specifically asking about her seemingly incessant complaining.
“Do you feel like the show portrays you as always complaining?” they wrote.
“Come on, we all know it seems like I’m complaining nonstop but this is what happens when you’re on a reality show,” Sai explained.
She then pointed out that she can be quite testy when she’s hungry.
“In all honestly when I’m hungry, I do complain a lot so I’m gonna own that one. Otherwise I’m a pretty happy, outgoing and fun person,” she reasoned.
Also during the chat, a follower of Sai’s wanted to know if she was content with the way producers edited her storyline.
“Are you happy with how they edited you on RHONY?” the person asked.
“Yes and no,” Sai replied. “The hungry thing was annoying after two episodes. I didn’t realize it would turn out to be my identity. There’s so much more to me.”
During an August interview with Daily Mail, Sai opened up about filming RHONY, describing the process as “intense.”
“It’s intense. It’s hard to film with a bunch of different personalities,” she confessed. “I’m so used to maneuvering alone and working alone and kind of creating my own lane. Now all of a sudden, I have five brand new besties that I didn’t think I would gain at this age, and having to kind of figure out what everyone’s personality is.”
The Real Housewives of New York City season 14 airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
