Ke Huy Quan makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Loki season 2 as Ouroboros, better known as “OB.” However, who exactly is the secret repairman of the Time Variance Authority, and did he appear in Marvel comics before his Disney Plus debut?
Ouroboros works in the Repairs and Advancements Department of the TVA, a role not yet seen in the organization before Loki season 2. Better known by his nickname, OB, the repairman understands the TVA better than almost anyone. If he didn’t design a piece of equipment, he certainly knows how to repair it. Ke Huy Quan plays the eccentric tech expert, aiding Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Owen Wilson’s Mobius in their quest to save the Multiverse.
Despite being a major supportive role for Ke Huy Quan in Loki season 2, Ouroboros is almost entirely a fabrication for the MCU. The only character with the name “Ouroboros” in Marvel Comics associated with the TVA is The Honorable Judge Ouroboros, who presided over the trial of She-Hulk in Vol. 2 of her 2005 book. Ouroboros only appeared in one issue as a clone of Judge Paradox, another character making their debut in Loki season 2, before being destroyed by the Retroactive Cannon. The character is a far cry from the eccentric inventor OB fans see in the series.
Tom Hiddleston is spearheading the cast of Loki season 2 as the titular God of Mischief. The cast also includes Owen Wilson, Jonathan Majors, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Tara Strong, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Ke Huy Quan and Neil Ellice.
Eric Martin replaced Michael Waldron as the head writer of Loki for its second season. Martin and Waldron also serve as executive producers on the series alongside Tom Hiddleston, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Benson and Moorhead directed the majority of the episodes for the upcoming season.
