With the show continuing to entertain viewers upon season 4’s arrival, many fans are wondering if Sex Education has been canceled after its latest season. Since the series is known for its explicitly mature content, some fans also wonder if it has been removed from Netflix. Here’s all the information you need about the show’s current and future status.
Has Sex Education been canceled after season 4?
No, Sex Education has not been canceled. However, its story does end with season 4.
Sex Education season 4 was announced as the final season of the series. Netflix didn’t cancel it. With that said, creator Laurie Nunn always planned to end the show with its latest season. Therefore, Netflix will not be launching Sex Education season 5, if that’s what you are waiting for.
However, we could get more show(s) based in Moordale as Nunn teased future spinoffs post Sex Education season 4. She told Tudum:
“I’m definitely taking a break and thinking about other things. But Moordale is a really rich world, and writing about teenagers is always a lot of fun. So, I think that there’s always potential for more to be explored in that world.”
Whether the spinoffs are based on certain characters from Sex Education remains to be seen. But, since Nunn loves writing about teenagers, it’s possible for the spinoff to focus on some new characters from a different school in Moordale.
Has Sex Education been removed from Netflix?
No, Sex Education has not been removed from Netflix.
The series continues to be one of the better originals for the streamer with its high viewership numbers. It hasn’t been removed from Netflix.
As season 4 is supposed to be the final one, fans appear to be confusing its lack of renewal with it being taken down. However, no such thing has happened with Sex Education and, at the time of writing, it is still available to watch on Netflix.
