While Moksi’s split may have come as a surprise to us all, Samir Ait Moh hasn’t missed a beat, releasing his first solo album.

Out via Yellow Claw’s Barong Family imprint, Moksi Crew is the start of a new chapter for Moksi, allowing him to flourish as a solo artist for the first time. He weaves between genres across each of the album’s 12 tracks, flowing from their pioneering bass house sound to techno, minimal and everything in between. It’s ultimately a career-defining move for Moksi, proving that no obstacles can stand in his way.

The album is brimming with standout collaborations, including Mike Cervello, Bok Nero, Nostaglix and FIGHT CLVB. “Tempo” sees him joining forces with Gentlemens Club and Emy Perez, infusing their bass house sounds and taking it to new heights. Elsewhere, Dread MC lends his unmistakable vocals on “Awkward Behavior” as the pair have cooked up one of the most innovative tunes on the album.

After turning heads for nearly a decade with the duo’s influential sound, Moksi is now forging a bright new chapter.

“The goal was to make an album that reflects me as an artist while challenging the popular sounds within today’s house music revival,” he explains. “My approach to my production process was quite technical for what I’m used to. All to find interesting new sound design techniques to make it sound different from other music I’ve been working on in the past. It was so fun to actually get my hands dirty and rediscover myself.”

You can listen to Moksi Crew below and find the album on streaming platforms here.
