Bethenny Frankel explains why she stopped liking RHOBH alum Lisa Rinna and what changed in her relationship with Kyle Richards.
Bethenny Frankel recently admitted on her Just B podcast that she “stopped liking” Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Rinna because she “saw what the machine of the Housewives did to her.”
The Real Housewives of New York said: “I used to love Lisa. We used to be friends… I liked her. I respected her. She was so down to earth and real.”
This revelation from Bethenny Frankel comes after Lisa Rinna publicly supported the Skinnygirl mogul’s plan for a reality TV reckoning.
Back in July, Lisa publicly supported Bethenny’s plan to create a reality TV union. She also encouraged any SAG/AFTRA members who star on Bravo to boycott BravoCon 2023.
“Every @Sag/aftra [member] who is on a Bravo show should boycott Bravocon. You want them to start to take you seriously and pay you the money you deserve? Then, start a reality show union, per Bethenny. Time is now.”
On the same podcast episode, Bethenny Frankel also revealed why her friendship with Kyle Richards changed over the years.
“I was good friends with Kyle for years. Yes, we went in, we went out, but I felt differently about her after seeing the machine, seeing the social media, seeing how different people react to fame, seeing her differently, seeing how she was portrayed on the show, seeing how she handled the fame,” Bethenny said.
She explained: “That’s not necessarily Kyle. That’s Kyle inside the machine, or as they call it on The Bachelor and Bachelorette, the bubble. So I have a different relationship with Kyle now because on Watch What Happens Live, Kyle’s asked [a question] by, of course not Andy Cohen, but] someone else who, you know, doesn’t want Andy to get dirty … She’s asked, ‘Why did you unfollow Bethenny on Instagram?’”
“It’s a provocative question … The questions are always designed for a woman to trash another woman. A poll for one person to win and one person to lose,” she continued.
Meanwhile, Bethenny Frankel’s former RHONY co-star Luann de Lesseps called her out for “going after the hand that fed her.”
Oddly enough, Bethenny admitted on the podcast mentioned above that perhaps she is “biting the hand that feeds her,” and now Luann de Lesseps is calling her out for doing just that!
While chatting with DailyMail.com, Luann says that she’s “only ever had positive experiences” working on reality TV but “understands” Bethenny’s fight.
“Listen, I’ve only had a good experience in my years on the show,” Luann said. “I’m sure there’s times where you go, ‘Oh, I wish that wasn’t edited like that,’ or whatever, but for me, it’s been a positive experience.”
“Now, I know for some people it is not, and so I don’t think what she’s doing is wrong; I just think that by suing and all of that, you’re going after the hand that fed you and that made you a star,” she continued. “I can imagine, like I said, that there are some people that don’t have good experiences now…. It’s never been mine, so I can’t speak to that. But I understand what she’s trying to do, but I’m not taking any sides.”
“I mean, my livelihood has been with NBC, and I’ve only ever had good experiences and continue to.”
