This Tuesday, President Biden condemned the Hamas militant group’s horrific attacks on Israel in a surprise move that took place over the weekend. Biden called them an “act of sheer evil” and confidently declared that “we stand with Israel.”
“There are moments in this life — I mean this literally — when a pure unadulterated evil is unleashed on this world,” he said in a televised speech. “This is an act of sheer evil.”
Biden went on to say, “Parents butchered using their bodies to try to protect their children Stomach-turning reports of babies being killed. Entire families slain. Young people massacred while attending a musical festival to celebrate peace. … Women raped, assaulted, paraded as trophies… In this moment, we must be crystal clear: We stand with Israel. We stand with Israel,” he said. “And we will make sure Israel has what is needed to take care of its citizens, take care of itself and respond to this attack. There’s no justification for terrorism. There’s no excuse.”
Of course with the massive war that’s currently going on, it sparks major concerns about potential violent acts. However, Biden said the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are working with state and local law enforcement to look out for any domestic threats that could spawn in response to the attacks in the Middle East.
“This is a moment for the United States to come together to grieve with those who are mourning. Let’s be clear: There’s no place for hate in America, not against Jews, not against Muslims, not against anybody. What we reject is terrorism.”

Vice President Kamala Harris tweeted, “Doug’s and my prayers are with the victims of the heinous terrorist attacks in Israel. @POTUS and my support for Israel’s security is unwavering.”
Former President Obama also tweeted, “All Americans should be horrified and outraged by the brazen terrorist attacks on Israel and the slaughter of innocent civilians. We grieve for those who died, pray for the safe return of those who’ve been held hostage, and stand squarely alongside our ally, Israel, as it dismantles Hamas. As we support Israel’s right to defend itself against terror, we must keep striving for a just and lasting peace for Israelis and Palestinians alike.”
Meanwhile, Trump said he believes none of this would have happened if he were still president.
