According to The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is projected to make $150-200 million at the global box office during its opening weekend. Approximately $100-125 million is expected to come from North American theaters, with another $50-75 million coming from overseas.

So far, the movie has made more than $100 million in advanced ticket sales.

The Eras Tour is now releasing a day early

In an Instagram post, Swift also announced the concert film will open a day earlier than initially announced.

“Look what you genuinely made me do: Due to unprecedented demand we’re opening early access showings of The Eras Tour Concert Film on THURSDAY [October 12] in America and Canada!!” the post reads. “…We’re also adding additional showtimes Friday and throughout the weekend. All tickets will be available by 10am [Thursday] morning. And it’ll be showing starting Friday in 90 counties all over the world. I can’t thank you enough for wanting to see this film that so vividly captures my favorite adventure I’ve ever been a part of: The Eras Tour. And the best part is, it’s an adventure we’re still on together.”

“The cultural phenomenon continues on the big screen!” the official Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour synopsis reads. “Immerse yourself in this once-in-a-lifetime concert film experience with a breathtaking, cinematic view of the history-making tour. Taylor Swift Eras tour attire and friendship bracelets are strongly encouraged!”

In a highly unheard-of move, Swift struck a deal with AMC and Cinemark to distribute The Eras Tour Concert Film rather than working with any major film studios. The concert film is directed by Sam Wrench and was filmed during three of Swift’s Eras Tours shows in Los Angeles that took place in August 2023.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour releases today, October 12, 2023, in United States theaters.
