Heather Gay reacted to Mary Cosby‘s fat-shaming on Watch What Happens Live with a post on her Instagram page on Wednesday.
After Mary, 50, suggested that Gucci wouldn’t make a size to fit her during a game of “Versace or Hibachi,” the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 49, clapped back as fans on social media expressed their disgust with Mary and called for her to be fired by Bravo.
“I don’t think Gucci makes that. I’ve never seen a corsget in like a size 14. Have you? A corgset, Andy?” Mary asked on the October 10 episode of WWHL as Heather was seen wearing a Gucci corset.
But after Bravo by Betches on Instagram shared a clip from the show, Heather took to the comments section to set the record straight, revealing her designer item was very much authentic.
“It’s real. And it’s spectacular!” she declared. Katie Maloney, 36, also asked, “What’s a corsget?”
Also in the comments section of the post, fans weighed in on the diss.
“She is just a mean person. She talks to people horribly [and] doesn’t do anything. They should give her spot to someone who really wants to be on there. Very unlikeable imo,” one person wrote.
“She’s a hurtful and dangerous person,” another agreed. “She obviously doesn’t want to be there or genuinely engage with anyone on the show or otherwise.”
Then, as a third signaled to Mary’s apparent “fatphobia,” and reminded Mary, “Lady [you] married [your] grandpa,” someone else described her as “straight up mean.”
“Bravo dropped the ball. Name one thing productive she has done beside spew out her subjective, mean spirited commentary???” one person requested.
“Give the spotlight to someone else, please!!” another begged.
Others noted that bringing Mary back to the show was a mistake.
“Ugh Mary needs to go. She’s so obnoxious with the size shaming!” someone stated.
“This girl has been problematic since her first day on the show and her sour puss attitude about everything is obnoxious. I don’t understand why she’s even there,” wrote another.
As the backlash continues, Heather is keeping things positive.
“Thank you [Gucci] for being so inclusive,” she wrote on her Instagram page, along with a stunning image of herself wearing the piece.
Following the sharing of the post, a number of Real Housewives spoke out in support of Heather, including her RHOSLC castmate Angie Katsanevas.
“One of your most beautiful looks Heather … GG stands for Good time Girl. Made just for you,” she wrote, also adding, “You are definitely a good time. It could also stand for Gorgeous Girl … Either way made for you.”
“I love this look and I think you look stunning in it,” noted Emily Simpson, 47.
Candiace Dillard-Bassett, 36, also weighed in, sharing a series of heart-eyed emojis.
