Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Monica Garcia reveals she found Angie K’s husband’s reaction to the cheating rumors “odd.”
Monica Garcia threw some shade at Angie Katsanevas’ husband, Shawn Trujillo, over his reaction to the rumors he was gay and stepping outside their marriage with various men.
On Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star admitted that she found it “odd” that Shawn got choked up about how the affair rumors would impact his and Angie’s daughter.
“What was your reaction to seeing him get emotional about the rumors and how they may affect their daughter?” Andy Cohen asked the RHOSLC newbie.
The 40-year-old said: “You know, I found it odd.”
Her WWHL co-guest, comedian Heather McMahan, interjected: “If you find out my husband’s gay, just don’t tell me. You know what I mean? Let somebody else deal with it.”
Monica Garcia also teased where she heard the rumor about Angie K’s husband’s sexuality and alleged affair. While Monica hinted that she first heard the rumor from a certain friend circle in Salt Lake City, she is going to wait until the season 4 reunion to reveal the details.
“I actually heard that rumor from multiple people over time. Friends in certain circles. I’m not gonna go there. I’m gonna save that for the reunion,” Monica teased.
On the October 10th episode of RHOSLC, Angie quickly shut down the gossip about her husband’s sexuality after being informed of the rumors at Lisa Barlow‘s après no ski party.
Angie had an explosive confrontation with RHOSLC co-star Meredith Marks after learning that the jewelry designer was spreading rumors suggesting that her husband, Shawn Trujillo, was sleeping with men behind her back.
Meredith denied that she’s said anything about Angie’s marriage beyond saying she’s heard rumors.
Following her confrontation with Meredith, Angie recounted the drama to her husband, Shawn, who was shocked by the claims.
Shawn said he could care less about the claims surrounding his sexual orientation but took issue with Meredith’s “smear campaign” about his fidelity.
“Bottom line is gay, straight, whatever; it’s the adultery part of it that’s bad,” Shawn said. “I know I don’t have to explain this s–t to you. It’s crazy, it’s nuts, it’s a smear campaign, and to what end is this woman willing to go to?”
He also got emotional thinking about how the rumors could affect their 12-year-old daughter.
“You know Elektra’s gonna hear about this, and it kills me to think that she would ever think that I would do something like this,” he continued. “I work my ass off to be her hero.”
