Joe Gorga performed a comedy set at the Catch A Rising Star comedy club in Princeton, New Jersey, on Saturday, October 14, and during the show, he threw some shade at his sister, Teresa Giudice, amid their ongoing feud.
As he got laughs by mentioning a season three moment that led to tension between Teresa, 51, and his wife, Melissa Gorga, 44, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 47, complained about his supposedly dry sex life with Melissa and suggested she once made him take a lie detector test after suspecting he’d been unfaithful.
“Joe kept calling out his wife in his jokes, making it seem like they have marital problems,” an eyewitness revealed to The U.S. Sun on October 17. “He began by talking about having this dream he normally has about seeing this gorgeous mermaid with curly hair and ‘big t**s’. When the mermaid touched him, he said he enjoyed it and joked, ‘I haven’t been touched in 18 years, I haven’t been kissed in 18 years.’”
“He explained two instances when he thought Melissa was in the mood for sex but gave excuses like she had a stomach ache and another time, only gave him five minutes for sex. He made it seem like she keeps on avoiding sex,” the source continued.
While Joe and Melissa have previously discussed their sex life, even saying that having a lot of it is the secret to their 19-year marriage, Joe said he enjoyed his dream mermaid, noting that Melissa calls him a “loser” if he doesn’t take out the trash and claims she’s “bored” when he works too much.
Joe then suggested Melissa made him take a lie detector test to see if he was cheating.
According to Joe, Melissa became convinced that he may have had an affair after he accidentally pocket-dialed her from a construction site.
“When he got home, he said Melissa had her mom [Donna Marco] and her sister over waiting for him to ask him about the affair. They also had a guy with a lie detector test who hooked up the wires everywhere, including his penis. One of the questions Melissa asked him was, ‘Do you ever fantasize about any of my friends?’” the insider shared, stating that Joe said he passed the test.
“If I were Melissa, I would be completely embarrassed by some of the stuff he spilled on stage, even if things he said weren’t true,” the source went on.
During the event, Melissa was joined by RHONJ co-stars Rachel Fuda, John Fuda, and Margaret Josephs‘ husband, Joe Benigno. And before the event, Joe spoke to The U.S. Sun himself.
“It’s more like inside real family stuff, which is stuff [fans] don’t see on TV. I talk about my kids, stuff that happens with them in life. And it’s just real s**t that people that are married, people that are dating, people that have children go through every day,” he teased of what fans could expect.
Then, after noting that Melissa “sometimes” likes his sex life shade, and “sometimes” doesn’t,” Joe said, “That’s why you never tell your family what you’re going to do.”
“I was taught from the beginning, from all the comedians – you never show your material to your family. They’re your worst critics,” he explained. “So I really don’t let her see anything. And you got to remember something – it is comedy. It’s not serious, even though it might be true, but you’re laughing about it…It’s just funny.”
As for his comments about Teresa, they were shared in a video from All About the Real Housewives.
“Who’s the best f*cking housewife of them all?” Joe asks in the clip.
Then, as someone yells, “Melissa,” he gives a nod to his wife’s season three feud with Teresa, which was prompted by Melissa bringing sprinkle cookies to her sister-in-law’s Christmas party, which Teresa ultimately threw out.
“As she sits there, as she’s ready to do her eulogy, she goes, ‘That b*tch killed my brother.’ I should’ve known when she brought me sprinkle cookies instead of pignoli cookies,” he states.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 14 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime next year.
