Loki season 2 kicked off on Disney+ last week and it set up a wild and fun story involving Loki dealing with Time-Slipping insanity. I enjoyed the first episode! There was also a fun little Easter egg pointed out that connects to Marvel’s Moon Knight series.
In the opening of the first episode of Loki season 2, the God of Mischief is being chased through the TVA, and finds himself escaping in a bright yellow hover car. The car ends up crashing into the TVA, and the character Casey takes off his headphones. In the Disney+ version of the episode, Casey is listening to audio that instructs “calm your mind and relax.”
But, there’s a clip from the episode that you can watch on YouTube that was released before the season premiere, and the audio is very different. In that clip, we hear, “Solving puzzles is a great way to keep your mind…”
Well, it seems like Casey is listening to the same podcast that Steven Grant is listening to in Moon Knight. The character listens to the solving puzzles version of the audio to keep himself awake.
I’m not sure why the final cut of the episode was changed from the clip that was released, but Loki season 2 showrunners Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directed two episodes of Moon Knight, so I imagine they were just having a little fun.
Regardless, the first episode of Loki Season 2 set up some great plot threads that I’m excited to see play out over the course of the season.
