Jim Jones and Papoose have taken the “Shaq & Kobe” baton from Rick Ross and Meek Mill with their hard-hitting new tracks.

The crisp Fresh Ayr and D-Mo production of Rozay and Meek’s latest record sparked the creativity in the veteran MCs, and Capo led the pack dropping some bars on “Shaq & Kobe” earlier this week alongside Byrdgang 2.0 collaborators Dyce Payso and Keen Streetz.

“BET red carpet just had $100,000 on me/ Half-a-ticket on her neck/ I don’t mean no disrespect/ She said I was looking like money better get that bitch in check/ Just had Meek and Ross on the block with us/ No lie went soft until the lock n-gga,” Jim Jones raps.

“And every time we would cook my lil’ cousin would throw up/ It’s all Bloods in my hood you gotta watch what you throw up.”

In the accompanying visual, the Dipset head honcho flexes stacks of cash alongside his crew and then makes it rain dollar bills in the strip club.

Papoose was also feeling inspired on the road on Monday (October 24) and decided to let fans in on his lyrical exercises by flowing over the Meek and Rozay track.

“2024 is my year/ Manhattan billboard in Times Square/ The TSA airport line-skipper who got Clear/ Saint Laurent shirt with the Lanvin sneakers a hot pair/ Bottega jeans riding like Tom Cruise in Top Gear/ My government ring bells, Shamele Mackie top tier/ Nice as Christopher Wallace, Shawn Carter, and Nasir,” Pap raps with ease.

His bars won over fans as they flooded his comment section with flame emojis and their stamp of approval. The post to Instagram featuring the driver’s seat freestyle boasts nearly 100,000 likes since Monday.

As for Meek and Rozay, they returned with their JAY-Z-sampling “Lyrical Eazy” single last week.

The MMG duo’s anticipated Too Good To Be True joint album is set to arrive on November 10. Timbaland got an early listen to the project and he’s set expectations sky-high.

“Like I’ma tell you right now, the Meek and [Rick] Ross album,” he told 99 JAMZ last week. “That’s what we been missing. Ross giving you that Big Meech Ross. And that’s all we want, we don’t want Ross to sound like Uzi Vert. We don’t hear him on those tracks. We want to hear Ross today. We want to hear that.

“When I hear their album and it’s a masterpiece, just be good at what you good at. Be great at what you great at. Don’t change for nobody. That album says a lot to me because Meek is being Meek whether you like it or not.”

Timbo went as far as dubbing Too Good To Be True a “classic.”

“It’s not dated, it sounds current, it sounds fresh and it sounds like a classic,” Timbo testified. “And you could tell the space they’re in. I don’t even have to talk to them or ask what space they’re in, you could hear it through the music.”
