Heather Dubrow revealed what she texted Shannon Beador following her DUI arrest, addressed misconceptions about her castmates, and seemingly shaded Shannon’s “two personalities.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County star got heat from most of her castmates this season after the dramatic return of Tamra Judge – her supposed friend.
On the Viall Files podcast, via Us Weekly, Heather claimed she tried to contact Shannon after the arrest, but her co-star didn’t respond.
“No one went on the group chat. I’m sure there were a lot of private conversations that went on [though],” said Heather, addressing when she learned of the arrest. “I had woken up that morning and someone had texted me the article … and, at first, you look at it and think, ‘It’s not true.’ Then, I thought, ‘Is she OK?’”
Heather then texted Tamra to find out if the reports were correct.
“[Tamra] didn’t know and I felt bad, but how was I not gonna then tell her? So, I sent [an article] to her and she called me,” Heather remembered. “And we talked for a couple minutes and I texted Shannon and I said, ‘Are you OK?’ I got kind of a party line text back that seemed to [be sent] to a bunch of people, asking us not to talk about it.”
The actress went on to say, “I wrote [Shannon] back, ‘You know, I have no plans to talk about it. I just wanted to see if you needed anything,’ and I didn’t hear back.”
“I texted her,” added Heather. “She sent me, like, the [same] response that she sent to everyone [after the DUI] and I sent her another one [that I was] ‘checking in’ and I got nothing.”
Heather shared that she would always be available if Shannon “needed” her. “I just hope she finds happiness,” expressed the castmate.
When asked how her castmates are misunderstood, Heather shared that “Jen [Pedranti] is seen as weak,” though she’s actually a “strong” person, and Taylor Armstrong is seen as “ditzy,” though she’s really a “smart girl.”
According to Heather, Emily Simpson can be “aggressive” but she’s also “very sensitive,” and Shannon is seen as “crazy” though she’s actually normal. However, Heather suggested that it’s been “hard” for her to deal with the “dichotomy” between Shannon’s “two personalities.”
The mother of four said Tamra “can be mean,” but she’s also “joyful” and “fun.” The “misconception” about Gina [Kirschenheiter], Heather shared, is that she’s “poor.”
“This girl is one of the strongest women I’ve ever met,” said Heather. “And the way she pulled herself out of a bad situation, and got her life together with three children and started a new career … she’s killing it.”
