Wedding bells are in the air! Over the weekend, the ex-husband of RHONJ star Dolores Catania proposed to his longtime girlfriend after three years of dating.
Frank Catania and Brittany Mattessich announced their engagement on Sunday night via Instagram.
Brittany shared photos of their engagement on her Instagram along with the caption:
“We’re Engaged!!!! ?? I’m so excited to start this next chapter with you, along with all the other good things we have going on… Thank you for being you & making me the happiest girl in the world. I wouldn’t want to do this life with anyone else other than @frank.catania.sr ?? love you so much, my fiancé.”
The RHONJ couple have been dating for the past three years but have known each other for well over a decade.
The two met over ten years ago when Frank trained Brittany for various fitness competitions. The now 34-year-old is a former bikini pro competitor who was born on September 7, 1989. She competed in the IFBB Bikini Pro competition in 2015.
In 2020, Frank first revealed that he was in a new relationship but didn’t reveal anything about his new girlfriend besides the fact that she was 30 years old. The two dated on and off before going official with their relationship in May 2022 when Brittany appeared in the audience during Frank’s appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
By June 2023, Frank and Brittany cemented their commitment to each other by buying a house together.
“I’m glad to say that Brittany and I have closed on our own house,” Frank said at the RHONJ season 13 reunion. “I’m gonna have to break it to David [Principe] before this reunion airs because I haven’t told him yet.”
Three months later, Frank gushed about Brittany in a post on Instagram, calling her “my better half @missbrittyann & the person in my life who has made me realize that it is a gift to be here every day & taught me how to have a drama free life.”
He continued, “The one person who is able to put a smile on my face no matter what the circumstance is. My love for you grows every day, and I hope you have not only the most beautiful birthday but the most beautiful life in every way.”
