Sleater-Kinney have shared the video for “Say It Like You Mean It” from their upcoming album Little Rope. The video was directed by the band’s Carrie Brownstein and stars J. Smith-Cameron, who you may know as Gerri from Succession.

“The video tells the story of a woman who’s lost all sense of what’s appropriate,” Brownstein says. “Sick with the alienation that stems from existing in a disparate emotional state from the person or people closest to her, she grapples with debilitating loss, desires to be seen, and dares you to leave.” It’s a tour-de-force performance by Smith-Cameron, and a terrific song, and you can watch the video below.

Little Rope is out Jan. 19 via Loma Vista, and Sleater-Kinney will be on tour in 2024, with Black Belt Eagle Scout opening many of the dates. Check out their schedule below.
