On Thursday, RHOSLC star Heather Gay clapped back after co-star Monica Garcia sued her Beauty Lab + Laser for alleged “botched” procedures on her nose and lips.
“This lawsuit in the press has no merit and is unfortunately a pattern of behavior from a desperate woman who, when unable to pay her bills, lashes out to avoid accountability,” Heather wrote in a post on Instagram.
The RHOSLC OG defended her “phenomenal” business, noting that Beauty Lab + Laser is “in the top 1% of providers, with over 3,000 positive reviews.”
“Our injectors are nationally ranked and leaders within the industry, and our legion of loyal customers speaks for itself,” she added.
Meanwhile, the word on the street is that the RHOSLC newbie is allegedly known for being an “ambulance chaser.”
On an October episode of her podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, Teddi Mellencamp revealed that she heard Monica was well-known in Salt Lake City for filing “frivolous lawsuits.”
“According to our source, Monica is an ambulance chaser, which means she is always looking at frivolous lawsuits,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum alleged.
As AllAboutTRH previously reported, the RHOSLC stars are at war with each other over a yet-to-air fallout.
In August, Heather Gay’s company, Beauty Lab + Laser, filed a lawsuit against RHOSLC newbie Monica Garcia for “breach of contract and breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing.”
Beauty Lab + Laser claims in legal documents that Monica signed a contract with them on December 10, 2019, to pay $2,449 for cosmetic injection services. The RHOSLC newbie only paid the initial payment of $449, including the $49 set-up fee and $400 down payment.
Monica was supposed to make $200 monthly payments over the next ten months, which she failed to do.
Beauty Lab + Laser claims they “suffered, and continues to suffer, significant losses and damages” due to the RHOSLC newbie’s lack of payment.
In September, the RHOSLC newbie countersued Beauty Lab + Laser. She later amended her response and filed a counterclaim on November 7.
Monica sued Beauty Lab + Laser for “breach of independent duty of care, breach of contract, and breach of duty of good faith and fair dealing.”
In her filing, Monica admits she did make an initial payment of $449. As for why she did not continue to make monthly payments, Monica claims she “received defective, negligently given injections, which did not have the intended, promised result.”
Due to the “botched” injections, the RHOSLC newbie had to go to another “competent party to fix the damage” to her nose and lips. She also claims that Heather’s company “promised” they would not seek further payment from her due to the “damages” she “suffered.”
On top of these claims, the RHOSLC newbie also alleges that Beauty Lab’s lawsuit results from its owner, Heather’s “personal animosity” toward her.
In her court filing, Monica stated:
“Beauty Lab’s complaint has been made because of the personal animosity towards Monica of Heather Gay, an officer and director of Heatherentertainment, Inc., a member of Beauty Lab and Laser, LLC, not because of the claims in the complaint, which Beauty Lab and Heather Gay know to be unfounded.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 4 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
