While discussing monogamy and cheating on Wednesday’s episode of RHOBH, the ladies question Kyle Richards’ marriage and new lifestyle habits.
Dorit Kemsley and the RHOBH are concerned that Kyle Richards‘ marital troubles with husband Mauricio Umansky have played a role in her extremely noticeable lifestyle changes.
On Wednesday’s episode of RHOBH, Dorit expressed concern for Kyle’s exercise habits and her newfound sobriety.
“You think that like this whole not drinking and distancing yourself for a minute was to try to protect yourself, get control because obviously, you’ve had the trauma of falling out with your sister [Kathy Hilton],” Dorit told Kyle during lunch in Las Vegas. “It’s traumatic.”
“Maybe,” said Kyle. “I mean, I’m not a psychologist, but I don’t know.”
“I feel like I need to be really clear right now about everything,” Kyle elaborated.
Dorit noted that Kyle didn’t have to “justify” her new lifestyle, but the mom of four quickly noted that Dorit wasn’t the only one commenting.
“I think Kyle’s choice to not drink allowed her to have more control over everything,” Dorit said in her confessional interview, noting that she thinks Kyle currently needs “more control over everything.”
“When I tease and say, ‘Oh, Kyle, come on!’ It’s because we have seven years of history. And when we go on trips like this, you know, you and I kind of let loose, and we’ll do silly things and have fun, and I missed that,” Dorit told Kyle, to which the RHOBH OG replied:
“But even that, before, I would’ve felt like, well I have to go drinks because everybody expects that from me to go out and have fun, or I would pretend and order a club soda and pretend there was vodka in it and I don’t even feel like I need to do that anymore. This is who I am. Just take it or leave it.”
In their own confessional interview, Sutton Stracke questioned if Kyle was going through a “mid-life crisis,” while Garcelle Beauvais said she “misses the old Kyle.”
Kyle revealed that she expected “more” from Mauricio this past year amid their marital problems.
“I think a lot of it has to do with us having a harder year; I expected more from him for what I was going through,” Kyle told Dorit.
“Also probably, you know how he loves to go drink, and there’s a lot of business events where I’m supposed to go and be the wife and be supportive, and sometimes it’s like, I don’t wanna go to these parties,” she continued.
The RHOBH OG also admitted that she’s struggled to balance her sobriety with Mauricio’s social lifestyle as the co-founder of his real estate firm, The Agency.
“A big part of [his job] is putting yourself out there and being social, and I’m in a place where I don’t want to do that,” Kyle said. “I mean, I would much rather be home reading than going to an event, especially now that I don’t drink anymore.”
When Dorit asked how Kyle and Mauricio could “sustain a marriage” while growing in different directions, the mom of four broke down in tears.
“I would be happy to be full-time in the mountains, you know, like doing the things I like to do,” Kyle said. “I think with the way my relationship is right now, I’m not happy. I’m sort of now working on myself inside, and I feel like he’s very focused on his work, so I feel like, in that aspect, we’re kind of like, you know, growing in different directions.”
Kyle added that she does “not want to wake up a few years down the road and be like, ‘Who are you? What are we supposed to talk about now?’”
Elsewhere in Wednesday’s episode of RHOBH, the cast headed to dinner, where Garcelle urged the ladies to play a question card game.
Crystal Minkoff asked the ladies of RHOBH if they believed “monogamy is natural for humans.”
“It’s difficult for some people to be monogamous,” Kyle said, noting that she thinks many people “suppress” their desires to be with others. Garcelle then asked the “married ladies” if they would forgive their spouses for admitting to “infidelity one time.”
Kyle then confessed that she didn’t know if she could keep her marriage going if Mauricio cheated.
“We have dealt with so many rumors for so many years,” she said. “Who cheated? Someone cheated. Do I look like the type of person that would be like, ‘Ah, just don’t let me find out about it?’ No, I’m not.”
As for Dorit, she said she’d “Lorena Bobbitt” her husband Paul “PK” Kemsley.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
