One of Mallory’s sorority sisters confirmed her death on November 10. She wrote, “It is with great sadness that we inform our CAU Family that our line-sister Brandi Mallory, 31-Σ-11, passed away yesterday. This was sudden and unexpected. Brandi was a bright light. Her beautiful smile lit up any room she entered. She loved with her whole heart and embraced life’s challenges head-on. Her talent as a make-up artist opened doors for her and made room for her to expand and grow.”
At the time of the news breaking about Mallory’s passing, neither an initial nor official cause of death had been publicly shared. But now, it is being reported that Mallory died after making a dinner run.

According to TMZ, they obtained a police report that reportedly revealed Mallory was last seen alive while buying dinner from a local Chipotle restaurant. The report claims her car was spotted in the parking lot of a strip mall early on November 9, and the owner of a deli adjacent to the Chipotle is the one who noticed it sitting there all by itself.
The deli owner reportedly told police that he saw a female inside who appeared to be sleeping, however, he didn’t think much of it until he saw the car still parked much later in the day. At the moment, he then called the police who confirmed Mallory was deceased inside her car.
The police report also claimed that nearby surveillance footage showed Mallory entering the parking lot the night prior around 5:53 PM, which is when she walked into the Chipotle, came out with her food, re-entered her vehicle, but never drove out of the lot or came out after that.
Police reportedly claimed there were no immediate signs of foul play, or evidence of her Chipotle meal being tampered with or having anything to do with her death, which is still under investigation.

A memorial for Mallory is set to be held in Lithonia, Georgia on November 19. Mallory made her debut on Season 4 of the ABC reality series ‘Extreme Weight Loss‘ in 2014, and she later revealed in 2018 that she originally joined the weight show after one of her sorority sisters passed away at 29.
She had initially auditioned to be on another weight loss show, ‘The Biggest Loser,’ but she was not picked to join the cast. Instead, producers suggested she audition to join ‘Extreme Weight Loss.’
At the time, she said, “I was literally waking up every day like… this may be my last day waking up, like, I don’t know what’s going to happen for me. When it’s playing on your mind that I might need to do something about my weight, because I’m afraid I might die too, then you might need to pay attention to something like that.”
