Lala Kent dished on her flirty run-in with Captain Jason Chambers at BravoCon and why she can’t date him. She also shared her initial response to the Vanderpump Rules season 11 trailer during an appearance on Tuesday.
While also declaring that she’s “[moving] on” from “Scandoval,” Lala, 33, looked back on her time at BravoCon earlier this month, and she also addressed Scheana Shay‘s controversial visit to Tom Sandoval‘s hotel room.
Speaking to fans on Amazon Live on November 14, Lala, who has dated a bit since her October 2021 split from Randall Emmett, 52, the father of her two-year-old daughter, Ocean Kent, whom she accused of cheating, said she doesn’t think now “is the right time” to embark on a new romance.
“I feel like it’s celebrated very, very heavily when you see a woman go through a really tough breakup, and then get into another relationship. [But] it is not celebrated when a woman comes out of something pretty traumatic in a relationship and says, ‘You know what? I’m going to press pause on finding someone,’” she noted. “It’s almost like the world feels sad for them, and I don’t like it.”
As for her potential connection with Captain Jason, Bravo’s resident bachelor, Lala said things between them would never work due to his location.
“I think there’s a high chance that I see Captain Jason again because he’s in the Bravo universe. [But] he lives in the Philippines,” she shared. “He told me that. And I was like, ‘I’m down for long distance, but that’s a little too long distance.’”
Lala admitted this year’s BravoCon in Las Vegas, which followed two prior events in New York City, was her favorite thus far — and said it came at a time she needed the love.
“I loved every panel I was a part of, meeting you guys was incredible and you guys sharing your stories with me made me feel less alone. I don’t know what it is about approaching holidays, but I always start feeling very isolated, even though I have family and friends around me all the time,” she explained to viewers.
As for what she didn’t like about this year’s fan festival, Lala said she wasn’t happy with the hotel situation.
“When we were in New York, because the hotels are much smaller, they put all of the Bravolebrities at the same hotel — except some Housewives. Housewives are fancy and they’re placed elsewhere. But it’s fun because you’ve got people from other shows next to you, or across the hall,” she revealed. “So, when it’s glam time, you get to see everybody. And I loved that part.”
Lala then dished on the “strangest” part of BravoCon.
“There was a girl who came up to me during one of the photo moments, and she was wasted,” Lala recalled. “I don’t know if there’s a problem happening there — self-diagnosed, right — but she was falling all over the place ready to get her picture, and said that I inspired her to get sober. And I was like, ‘Oh no, do I need to intervene? Are you trying to have a bonding moment with me?’ But I was like, ‘This is by far the craziest interaction I think I’ve ever had.’”
During a game of “Shag, Marry, Shoot” with Tom Schwartz, 40, Sandoval, 40, and Jo Wenberg, Schwartz’s rumored flame, Lala said she’d “shag and marry” Schwartz.
“He can bring Jo into the mix however he feels is necessary. And Tom Sandoval, I think he’s the one that’s gotta go,” she added.
When Lala was then asked about the ongoing saga of “Scandoval,” which saw the fallout of Sandoval’s affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, she admitted she’s ready to turn the page.
“I felt like what he did was so crazy to my friend [Ariana Madix], right? But I also had my own personal experience — all of the things he said to me during that time that I was like, ‘Oh, I’m on fire.’ Cut to eight months later, you guys, I know what I said, and I stand behind everything I said. But at some point, you gotta move on,” she reasoned. “If I’m not that invested in someone who personally affected me, people in the comment section cannot be, you know, that into it.”
“You just watched it, you weren’t personally attacked or affected by what happened. It’s pretty intense,” she added.
During her time at BravoCon, Lala found herself in the midst of drama after James Kennedy, 31, alleged during a panel event that she had been in Sandoval’s hotel room. However, after Lala popped off on James for suggesting such a thing, it was revealed that it was Scheana who was in the suite.
“That was a huge thing,” Lala admitted of the topic. “And I, at this point in my life, am like, ‘Do whatever you’re gonna go and do. If you want to be in someone’s room, if you don’t want me in someone’s room, you want to defend this person, not defend them, be angry still – you do you.’ But, everyone is going to have to take accountability.”
Also during her Amazon appearance, Lala reacted to the season 11 trailer, which was aired for the first time at BravoCon.
“I had chills. It was intense, and when they did the opening of us last season doing main titles and laughing, and they had like the ballad of our song, I’m on the panel watching this with you guys, and I’m like ‘Are you about to cry over this?’” she recalled. “I almost started crying, you guys.”
Vanderpump Rules season 11 is set to premiere on Bravo in January 2024.
