Are we ready to make Cardi B president? Or maybe a mayor, governor, or a congresswoman for New York? The Bronx rapper is again using her superstar platform for good and blasting the U.S. Government and New York government for funding wars and cutting at least $547 million from the NYC Department of Education and about $6 million from NYC Sanitation.

Earlier this week, it was announced that under the orders of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, the city’s education budget would be severely cut due to a revised plan slashing $547 million of the Education Department’s overall budget this school year. According to New York Daily News, the figure will grow to $602 million in the 2024-2025 school year, and rise even more for the 2025-2026 school. A reported, $1 billion will be cut over two years.
The NY Daily News also reports that “some $120 million will be saved annually by eliminating thousands of the 37,000 unfilled slots in public preschool programs.” Reportedly, officials claim that these programs have been “underused by parents and children,” but they did not immediately note how many seats would exactly be removed.

It’s also noted that public schools were already headed toward fiscal ruin before Mayor Adams’ budget cuts announcement, which he happened to blame on the city’s growing cost of housing and caring for migrants. Reportedly, Mayor Adams said that the city spent $1.45 billion on the migrant crisis this year, resulting in $4 billion in cuts across the state.
In addition to the major cuts to the NYC Department of Education, the New York Police Department and Sanitation Department are also getting hit hard to compensate for the billions in statewide cuts. Of the NYPD’s $5.6 billion budget, about 132 million of that will be slashed for next year, according to the report. Meanwhile, sanitation will see about $5.5 billion removed, which means more trash WON’T be removed across the city, leading to more litter buildup, rat infestation, etc.

Rightfully, (un)official New York spokeswoman Cardi B has taken to her social media to not only call out the U.S. Government for continuously funding wars overseas but to also condemn her local New York Government for severely cutting into the NYC Department of Education budgets, affecting New York’s youth.
While hopping on her Instagram Live, Cardi said, “I’m an angry a** b*tch right now. I’m about to go off right now. If something happens to me, it’s because I’m speaking the truth. Here’s the truth. In New York, there is a $120 million budget cut that is going to affect schools, public libraries, and the police department, [even though] y’all know I don’t give a f**k about cops, but it is what it is. And there’s a $5 million budget cut in sanitation. B*tch, we’re going to be drowning in f**king rats.”
Cardi added, “This is why I’m telling y’all, this year, don’t f**king ask me.. I’m not endorsing no f**king presidents, no more. ‘Cause how is there a $100 million budget cut in New York City for f**king schools, libraries, police safety, and sanitation; yet Joe Biden is talking about, ‘Yeah, we can fund two wars. Motherf**kers talking about, ‘We don’t got it,’ but we got it. We’re the greatest nation.’ No the f**k we’re not. We’re going through some sh*t right now. Like, say it. We really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really are f**ked right now. Where are these going to go? I’m lucky, I’m blessed, but what’s going to happen to my nieces, my nephews, my cousins, my aunts, my friends that’s living in the hood?”
