Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans and her family are dealing with another distressing situation as her son Jace has run away once again.
As we previously reported, the 14-year-old left home multiple times over the past few months. Thankfully each time he was found safe and was recently placed under the care of Jenelle’s mom, Barbara. However, this latest incident seems to be even more concerning.
According to TMZ, Jace is currently hospitalized after running away for the fourth time this year, and this time Child Protective Services is taking custody of the teen. Sources tell the news outlet that Evans’ son ran away from his grandmother’s home Saturday, and wasn’t found until 11:45 PM Sunday. It was said that CPS will now place him in foster care as he’s run away so many times.

The news outlet notes that Jace was recently caught vaping at his school and when grandma found out, she decided to punish him by taking his phone away. Barbara had been advised by Jenelle, CPS and the foster care team not to give Jace a phone in the first place. However, she thought he could handle it. Shockingly when Barbara took the phone away as punishment, Jace split, prompting this latest search for the teen.
At this point it appears that they’ve run out of options with Jace who spent most of his childhood in Barbara’s care. Although Jenelle regained custody earlier this year, he still end up at Barbara’s house again…only to run away from home a bunch of times.
As a result of this, CPS officials are just extremely worried about Jace. However, it was noted that if he gets in any more trouble, he could end up in a juvenile detention facility, the news site reports.

Jenelle has not released a statement on this latest situation. However, she previously spoke out to defend her son’s actions and her parenting skills. She said at the time, “As a boy mom, kids can act up and rebel as I’m sure the majority of us all once did as kids too. Jace, got in trouble at school, we decided to take his phone away and that’s when he decided to run off, Jace is a good kid and we’re not dealing with anything that most families don’t deal with while raising children, this has absolutely nothing to do with my situation with David, we do not argue in front of our children or fight in front of our kids. This is a teenage boy being a teenager mad that we decided to take his phone away.”
Strangely enough, Jenelle’s husband, David Eason, was accused of roughing him Jace causing his to run away back in September. Eason has since been charged with child abuse.
