Meek Mill is not convincing fans that he is making $1 million per song, as he claimed on Instagram.
In a post on Monday (November 20), Meek claimed: “I’m getting a million a song … so that’s [$]62,500 every bar I speak…. They say this rap shit dying must be on billboard because it’s not to meek!”
Fans were quick to treat the claim with skepticism given its mathematical hyperbole, with comments under the post including: “Shut the hell up. You are the king of cap rap.”
The Philadelphia rapper was also criticized for seemingly going back on his no smoking pledge as he can be seen in the same Instagram post with what appears to be a blunt in his hand.
Meek had insisted just days ago that he was following Snoop Dogg’s lead and giving up weed, but his commitment appears to have lasted as long as Tha Doggfather’s.
“Ima go to Dubai and completely stop smoking ima follow snoop, my doctor said I got a lil bit emphysema in a chest if I don’t stop smoking it cuts my lifeline in half,” Meek wrote on X last week. “I was addicted to the nicotine and this new weed got too many chemicals and too risky to play with my mental!”
Comments under his Instagram post also highlighted the fact that Meek appeared to have a joint in hand. One said: “That boy seen snoop was just capping and said fuck it.”
Another commented: “I thought you said u were done smoking.”
Snoop Dogg’s bombshell announcement that he was giving up “smoke” turned out to be a stunt for his latest product endorsement — a limited edition smokeless firepit.
In the ad, Snoop says: “Announcement: I’m giving up smoke. I know what you thinking — ‘Snoop, smoking’s kind of your whole thing.’ But I’m done with it. Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky-icky. I’m going smokeless.”
