Fallout Season 2 Episode 2 Release Date, Time, Where to Watch

HBO premiered a documentary series titled, Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God, on November 13, 2023. This three-part series focuses on the life and death of Amy Carlson.

Love Has Won is a cult founded by the departed, Amy Carlson. According to CBS News, Carlson founded Love Has Won in 2006. Carlson aka Lia claimed that she was 19 billion years old. Furthermore, she even claimed that at one point in her life, she lived as Jesus.

She grew up in Dallas, Texas, and was a brilliant student. However, in the 2000s, her interest in New Age philosophy deepened. After meeting Amerith WhiteEagle, she was convinced that she was divine. In 2007, she left her family and job. Soon, she moved to Colorado to be with WhiteEagle.

Officials discovered her mummified corpse on April 28, 2021. She was 45 years old at the time of her death. According to the New York Post, her body was discovered wrapped in a green sleeping bag. Furthermore, her eyes were missing and her face had glitter makeup. Her body was being used as a makeshift shrine. Someone outside the group last saw her alive on April 10, 2021. According to her autopsy report, she died due to alcohol abuse, anorexia, and colloidal silver dosing.

Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God synopsis and other details

According to HBO, the official synopsis of Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God reads, “Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God chronicles the life and death of Amy Carlson, also known as Mother God, a self-proclaimed spiritual savior who built a cult through her online manifestos and live-streaming sessions. As Amy’s health declined, her followers believed her death would lead to her evacuation by UFO and salvation for humanity. Told through the eyes of Amy’s devotees and constructed from the cult’s archival footage, the three-part docuseries captures the perils of internet proselytizing and a conspiracy-driven faith.”

Hannah Olson directed Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God. Furthermore, she is also one of its executive producers.
