United Talent Agency, one of Hollywood’s premiere talent agencies, is “no longer representing Susan Sarandon“.
Their spokesperson told CNN on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) the move had come in light of the actress and activist’s recent comments made at a pro-Palestinian rally.
The Oscar-winner had attended at least two pro-Palestinian rallies in recent weeks in New York City amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

At one on November 17, a video taken by the New York Post showed Sarandon speaking to the crowd on the back of a truck at Union Square.
“There are a lot of people that are afraid, that are afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of how it feels to be Muslim in this country,” she said.

In another clip, shared on TikTok, the 77-year-old said: ”People are questioning, people are standing up, people are educating themselves, people are stepping away from brainwashing that started when they were kids.
“Be strong, be patient, be clear and stand with anybody who has the courage to speak out,” she encouraged attendees and thanked “the Jewish community who’s come out to have our backs”.
The actress also shared a pro-Palestinian post from Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Waters has been criticised over the years for his anti-Semitic remarks.
Sarandon, who had been with UTA since 2014, is yet to comment on the announcement.
Concerns about anti-Semitic incidents in the US have grown as the civilian death toll in the Israel-Hamas war has continued to rise and Gaza grapples with a humanitarian crisis.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations told NBC last month it had seen a 182 per cent increase in “requests for help and reports of bias” against Muslims in the US in October.

Sarandon is known for joining rallies, protests and picket lines, even having been arrested in the past.
The actress was seen at a protest in September calling on President Joe Biden to end fossil fuels, and also held placards at the recent SAG-AFTRA actors strikes.
In May, she was handcuffed at the New York State Capitol in Albany while demanding fair wages for restaurant workers.
In 2018, the actress was among the 575 people arrested during a Women’s March in Washington DC, protesting the Trump administration’s immigration policy.
