Summary

Captain America’s evil counterpart, Captain Krakoa, is confirmed to be Steve Rogers himself, the infamous Hydra Cap. Captain Krakoa’s enhanced powers and combat skills make him one of the most dangerous superhumans in the Marvel Universe. Captain America’s biggest threat may come from himself, as he faces off against his evil counterpart with a highly powered warsuit.

Warning: SPOILERS for Uncanny Avengers #4In the Marvel Universe, there are few heroes who are as gifted fighters as Captain America. With a super soldier serum flowing through his veins and decades of experience at his disposal, Steve Rogers is truly one of the best hand-to-hand combatants in the world. But even Captain America can’t win a fight against himself.

Uncanny Avengers #4 by Gerry Duggan, Javier Garrón. Morry Hollowell, and VC’s Travis Lanham sees the Unity Squad once again facing off against the mysterious and treacherous Captain Krakoa. Having been beaten by the masked malcontent before, Captain America launches a sneak attack on the false-flag operative after realizing his opponent’s true identity.

Captain Krakoa Beats Uncanny Avengers

Ultimately, it’s confirmed that Captain Krakoa is Steve Rogers himself – the infamous Hydra Cap that nearly took over the world in Secret Empire – but not before he makes short work of his opponents, including his altruistic other half. And with yet another stunning display of combat prowess under his belt, it’s arguable that Steve Rogers is the best combatant in the Marvel Universe, whether he’s good or evil.

Even A Baseline Captain America Is Incredibly Dangerous

Captain America Has Got Hands

Fans have always known that Captain America’s combat prowess is nothing to be disregarded. After all, he’s Marvel Comics’ confirmed ideal of human physical perfection, and he’s won countless battles against opponents far more powerful than himself, whether he’s been on his own or backed up by his fellow Avengers. With a history like this, it’s understandable that the only person who would be a match for Captain America is Captain America himself.

The Captain Krakoa armor radically enhances its wearer by exponentially increasing their strength and reflexes. Steve Rogers already boasts a physicality that nears superhuman levels, so any version of Captain America – even one corrupted by Hydra and working for Orchis – is subsequently going to become one of Marvel Comics’ most dangerous superhumans. Adding to that Captain America’s trademark combat skills, and it’s no wonder that Captain Krakoa has routinely crushed Captain America and the Uncanny Avengers in practically every encounter.

Captain America Is His Own Worst Enemy (Literally)

Captain Krakoa Hydra Cap

Against similar odds, Captain America has faced entire teams of enemies on his own and come out on top. It’s only logical that Steve’s evil counterpart would have similar skills especially when enhanced to superhuman levels. And with quite the personal score to settle, Captain Krakoa’s odds against Cap and his Unity Squad are that much better.

On his own, Captain America is the most dangerous fighter in the Marvel Universe – with his fascist variant claiming the same title. And with a highly powered warsuit amplifying his already impressive abilities, this evil version of Steve Rogers is clearly a force to be feared. Even with Marvel Comics’ Uncanny Avengers at his back, Captain America’s greatest threat just may be himself.

Uncanny Avengers #4 is available now from Marvel Comics.
